Saturday September 31st
UNC-Chapel Hill vs. South Carolina (Charlotte) – Both teams want to get started on the right foot. The only game this week that features two App opponents.
Coastal Carolina vs Eastern Michigan – Probably the most competitive game of the weekend in the Sun Belt. Would be a big win for Coastal if they could pull it off at home.
Louisiana vs Mississippi State (New Orleans) – Bulldogs shellacked the Cajuns 56-10 last season. Interesting to see how much Louisiana has turned it around.
UL-Monroe vs Grambling – The most boring game of the week. Monroe should win, but don’t be surprised if Grambling hangs around for a bit.
South Alabama @ Nebraska – Jaguars had three wins last year. Cornhuskers had four wins, and a loss to Troy. Quarterback Adrian Martinez returns for Big Red.
Georgia Southern @ LSU – Tigers coming off strong season, all losses were to ranked opponents. Tough sledding for Southern to play a road opener in Death Valley.
Georgia State @ Tennessee – Another game with an ugly spread. Don’t be surprised to see the Panthers make things difficult on the Vols with their running game.
Campbell @ Troy – Paycheck game for Campbell. Chip Lindsay makes his debut for the Trojans and Kaleb Barker returns.
