This weekend, every game is on Saturday. None of that midweek ridiculousness. On to the games
Saturday September 7th
UL-Monroe (1-0) @ Florida State (0-1) The Warhawks beat Grambling last week, but it wasn’t a great showing. This week they get the Seminoles after losing to Boise State.
Maine (1-0) @ Georgia Southern (0-1) – Eagles were easily handled last week by LSU, and Shai Werts didn’t play in the second half due to injury. Southern cancelled classes earlier this week due to Hurricane Dorian.
Furman (1-0) @ Georgia State (1-0) – Parts of Atlanta are excited after Georgia State’s win over Tennessee. The other parts root for the SEC. Are the Panthers formidable?
Jackson State (0-1) @ South Alabama (0-1) – South kept it close with Nebraska, losing by just two touchdowns, but Cornhuskers are still a team of mystery. South Alabama had five turnovers to Nebraska’s three.
Wyoming (1-0) @ Texas State (0-1) – The narrative tells you that Wyoming upset Missouri, but it’s the exact opposite. Tough game for the Eat’em Up Cats after getting squashed by A&M last week.
Coastal Carolina (0-1) @ Kansas (1-0) – Jayhawks snuck by Indiana State last week while Coastal lost to Eastern Michigan at home. Kansas is only favored by 8 points. This is a sneaky one.
Liberty (0-1) @ Louisiana (0-1) – Good fight last week from the Cajuns, but it just wasn’t enough against Miss State. Cajun Field does not have a hospital so not sure how Hugh Freeze is going to call plays.
Arkansas State (0-1) @ UNLV (1-0) – Rebels ran right past Southern Utah. stAte fell by a touchdown to SMU. This game is probably the best of the week. Red Wolves are just 1.5 point underdogs. Eighty points could be scored in this one.
North Carolina (1-0) vs Miami (0-1) Huge game in determining kickoff time for 9/21. Tar Heels looked beat for most of last week, but then realized they were playing South Carolina and realized they could win. Canes are coming off Week Zero loss to Florida. Canes are favored by four on the road.
Charleston Southern (0-1) @ South Carolina (0-1) – Battle of the winless Sandlappers. Southern got throttled by Furman last week. South Carolina lost a battle in Charlotte to some other guys.
TROY is on BYE in Week 2.
