It’s an understatement to label 2014 App State football as a rollercoaster. The Mountaineers were coming of a horrible 2013 season and promises of an extremely talented recruiting class were on our mind. Therefore, we were staring at 2014 with wild anticipation.

One of those promising recruits was none other than the son of Furman Paladin Bobby Lamb: Taylor Lamb. We heard how he was a winner.  A competitor. A smart player who had all the makings of what App State football needed. It turns out those statements were absolutely correct.

Taylor Lamb made his first start against Southern Miss in 2014 after lopsided games against Michigan and Campbell. The young redshirt freshman Tweetsie Taylor got the starting nod over the established starter Kam Bryant. Therefore, App State fans knew this meant SOMETHING but we didn’t know exactly what at the time.

The BGP guys knew we had our long-term starting QB after that game even if App State lost in a heartbreaker. That’s why we’re grateful Taylor returned to BGP to discuss his first career start in 2014 against Southern Miss.
